TV Broadcast Solution
Large sporting events broadcasts often use multiple mono microphones to help capture the action. Integrating these mono sources together with the main program to provide a mix that keeps the center-channel dialog intelligible and enveloping to the listener is a challenge.,
DTS Mono2Stereo gives the mixer complete control over how mono elements are positioned in the final stereo or 5.1 mix. Mono2Stereo protects mono sound effects from competing with mono announcers’ voices, and allows the mixer to move these sound effects away from the center channel in surround mixes.
By assigning multiple Mono2Stereo instances on sub-mixes or individual sources, audio elements can be spatially separated to preserve intelligibility and create an enveloping image, nearly indistinguishable from native stereo content. (necessary paragraph)
